“Some Roads”
Michael Lemon ©

There was a time when I gave up hope
Guess I had enough
This world made me turn my back
On the ones I loved

Maybe the times have brought me change
Or have I just gotten used to the pain?

Some roads, are not ours to choose
Some roads, are not ours to choose

There’s a beating heart out there
But it’s not my own
I can hear it within the dark
When I’m all alone

Yeah it calls out to me sometimes
Although, I try to ignore the signs

Some roads, are not ours to choose
Some roads, are not ours to choose

(Music solo)

These days I’m starting to show my age
The youthful leaves
We dig deeper into our soul
Until "she" bleeds

How can it still be there?
All this time with so little care

Some roads, are not ours to choose
Some roads, are not ours to choose

It doesn’t matter if we win or lose
It’s just a matter of making a move

It makes no difference what I find
I’ll still look back from time to time

Some roads, are not ours to choose
Some roads, are not ours to choose
